Cary Elwes Remembers Rob Reiner on His 79th Birthday: “Thinking of You”
Nearly three months after the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer, tributes are being paid to the actor and filmmaker on what would have been his 79th birthday.
Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner’s acclaimed film The Princess Bride (1987), commemorated his late colleague on Friday, following the arrest of Rob and Michele’s son, Nick Reiner, for allegedly killing the couple in their Brentwood home on December 14.
“Today would have been your 79th birthday. Still hard to believe you’re gone. Missing you so much,” Elwes wrote, sharing a throwback photo of the two together.
Last month, Nick Reiner entered a not guilty plea on two counts of first-degree murder and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 29.
Facing a potential life sentence or the death penalty under “special circumstances” charges, L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman stated in January that he believes a Los Angeles jury will find Nick guilty “beyond a reasonable doubt.”
The 32-year-old Reiner has a history of addiction and mental health challenges and was taken into custody by the LAPD just hours after his parents’ bodies were found.
