Cara Delevingne Talks About Her Favorite Fragrance, a Surprising Brow Tip, and Her Recent Project with Jordan Firstman
You never know what Cara Delevingne will do next. The versatile talent, who rose to fame after her breakout Burberry campaign in 2011, quickly set her sights on acting. After starring in films like *Paper Towns* and *Suicide Squad*, she expanded her repertoire to television with roles in *Only Murders in the Building* and *American Horror Story*. Last year, Delevingne made her theatrical debut in a West End production of *Cabaret*, taking on the iconic role of Sally Bowles, originally made famous by Liza Minnelli. Most recently, it was announced that she will star in *Club Kid*, directed by Jordan Firstman, known for his role in *I Love LA*. Speaking with Delevingne last month, she noted that she has two additional projects lined up before the year ends, stating, “I can’t talk about those yet, but I’m really excited.”
Despite her busy schedule, Delevingne still finds time for modeling. This past fall, she walked in both the Vetements spring/summer 2026 show and L’Oréal’s Le Défilé show at Paris Fashion Week, an event celebrating women’s empowerment. A longtime partner of L’Oréal, she passionately supports their Stand Up campaign, which encourages bystander intervention against street harassment. “Gender-based violence is rife. Being able to intervene in moments of street harassment is something, especially as a woman, that I think is very important,” Delevingne emphasized. In line with the campaign, L’Oréal recently launched the *ROBLOX x Le Défilé* experience, allowing users to explore a virtual Paris while learning how to intervene in incidents of street harassment. “If you read this interview, it is your sign to go and find a self-defense class in some way, shape, or form, or talk about it with your friends. We all need each other. Let’s stand up to violence,” she urged.
During a recent conversation with *InStyle*, Delevingne discussed topics ranging from confidence to her beauty routine and what lies ahead in her career.
You walked in L’Oréal’s D’éfilé show this past fall. What made it so meaningful to you?
“It’s just an amazing time to be able to spend with women that I’ve known for a long time, catch up with them, and then meet new people. I was right in front of Jane Fonda, and like always, we had some of the most wonderful chats. We learn so much from each other. That’s the nicest thing, just being part of something where we all have different life stories, but we are all connected somehow.”

A big theme of the show is sisterhood. How do you invest in female friendships in your own life?
“I’ve always struggled a bit with learning about things that you learn from other women and asking for help. I’m still working on it. But that, for me, is real sisterhood. Also, having friendships that go beyond the good times. You have friends who are there for you, really, throughout anything. One of my best friends, when I was going through a really rough time, just being able to hurt, be there for me, and for me to just be sitting in complete silence in a ball on the sofa. That kind of friendship is long-lasting. And that’s the kind of sisterhood where we’re there throughout the ups and downs. I wouldn’t have been able to do any of it without my sisters.”
A big facet of this campaign is confidence. What makes you feel confident?
“Music makes me feel confident. Telling others that they look good or they seem well. I always think that helps feeling confident. If you feel good, make others feel good.”
Any music that you’re especially into right now?
“At the moment, there are so many incredible women making great music. I listen to a lot of Little Simz. I love Sabrina Carpenter. I’m obsessed with Chappel Roan. Reneé Rapp, Minke, my girlfriend, is a brilliant musician. Taylor Swift. I’m loving my girls at the moment. I also like going back to older music, like Tracy Chapman, Indigo Girls, and Sheryl Crow. I’ve got a great playlist.”
Back to confidence, do you have any strategies for faking it on days when it doesn’t come as easy?
“I’m an actor, so that kind of helps. But anyone can fake being confident for that moment. Sometimes, if I’m driving to a meeting and I’m spiraling on some stupid thing, I’m like, okay, for this one minute, Cara’s brain, be nice. Have a conversation with your brain. Just say ‘Stop. I have a meeting to focus on. It’s gonna go great.’ Visualize it going really well. Take a couple of deep breaths. Give yourself a break.”

Shifting gears to beauty, what would your desert island beauty products be?
“I love Elnett. I use it for a lot of different things. I get a lot of flyaways. I also use it for my brows with a little spoolie. It reminds me of my grandmother. I love the smell.
”
“The Big Deal mascara. I’m a big mascara person, especially if I don’t have a lot of time, like if I’m running to a meeting, I use mascara.”
“And then I’m kind of into the Infallible lip right now, the matte one.”
What’s your brow routine, besides using Elnett?
“Tweezing—not a lot. A bit of trimming, a bit of tweezing, and just keeping these puppies in place.”
Do you do anything different before red carpets?
“If I’m a little tired or my face feels puffy, I’ll shove my face in some ice for as long as I can. I try and drink as much water as I can and avoid sugar for a few days before, because sugar bloats me. I’ll try and do a bit of gua sha on my face. That’s about it.”
Do you have a signature scent at the moment?
“It’s called Maison Louis Marie, number nine. I love that brand. I have a few different numbers.”
What is your favorite red carpet look that you’ve worn over the years?
“Probably the Met Gala the year the theme was Camp. That felt like a really amazing moment in fashion, and to celebrate the LGBTQ community and their influence in fashion and entertainment. That was just a really fun time.”

You made your theater debut in *Cabaret*. What was it like working on the stage for the first time and stepping into Liza Minnelli’s shoes?
“There are so many incredible actors who have been in *Cabaret* in general. So to be able to say, I’m Sally Bowles on the West End is still really crazy. I’ve never experienced anything like it, and I probably never will. I would do anything to do it again. I love the stage. I miss it so much.”
Do you think you’ll do another theater production?
“I hope so. It always depends on the part and the character and the director. But I would love to. I miss it. I really do. There is really nothing like being on the stage.”
Can you tell us about any upcoming projects that you’re excited about?
“I’m doing Jordan Firstman’s movie called *Club Kid*. That’s really exciting. We just wrapped that. Jordan is incredible. He’s so talented. To be able to do his project that he wrote and directed and is acting in… he’s a tour de force. Being a part of it is an honor.”
“I’m filming two other projects before the end of the year, which is really crazy. So I’m starting that next week. I’m really excited.”
