Camila Cabello Reflects on Viral ‘Quismois’ Meme
Camila Cabello recently addressed her viral "quismois" meme in a TikTok video shared on December 24. In the video, Cabello candidly explained the impact of the moment that has followed her since her 2021 performance at the White House, during which her pronunciation of "Christmas" garnered significant attention on social media.
The heartfelt message was encapsulated in her poignant caption: "December is a triggering time for me." This acknowledgment highlights the emotional weight the holiday season carries for her.
In the TikTok clip, Cabello responded to a viewer’s question that read, "Why do you pronounce Christmas like that?" While mouthing the words to a popular audio track, she remarked, "No, no, but it’s not funny at the end of the day, is it? It’s serious."
This marks not the first time Cabello has revisited that incident. In 2022, she playfully addressed the memes surrounding her pronunciation in another video, where she pretended to coach herself on enunciation. Dressed in a different outfit, she sang "I’ll Be Home for Christmas," struggling to say "Christmas" correctly before playfully conceding, "It’s gonna be great."
Cabello originally released her cover of the song, which was made famous by Bing Crosby in 1943, across all streaming platforms. Most recently, she completed her YOURS, C TOUR in September, which supported her latest studio album, C,XOXO.

Since that busy period, Cabello has taken a step back from the public eye. Earlier this month, she shared her experience of undergoing a digital detox on Instagram, describing it as "doing wonders" for her. She detailed her decision to remove most social media and news apps from her phone, allowing herself to recharge through books and films.
She expressed how this change initially felt restless but has led to greater mental clarity. "I’m so curious to keep creating music from this place next year," she noted, adding, "that’s why I’ve been a bit AWOL, but I miss you guys… and hope you’re taking care of yourselves."
