Camera Operators Society Announces 2026 SOC Awards Nominations for Film and TV
The Society of Camera Operators (SOC) has announced the nominees for its 2026 SOC Awards, a prestigious event honoring the artistry of camera operation and recognizing the vital role of camera operators and crews in storytelling. The full list of nominees includes both film and television categories.
In the competition for the Camera Operator of the Year in Film, nominees feature talented professionals behind notable projects such as Apple Original Films’ F1, Netflix’s Frankenstein, A24’s Marty Supreme, and Warner Bros’ One Battle After Another and Weapons. Colin Anderson stands out as the only double nominee this year, recognized for his work on Marty Supreme and One Battle After Another.
For the television category, nominees include camera operators from episodes of Prime Video’s recently concluded Étoile, HBO Max’s The Pitt, Netflix’s Stranger Things, and Apple TV’s Severance and The Studio.
Matthew Moriarty, President of the Society of Camera Operators, expressed pride in this year’s honorees: “This year’s honorees represent the very best of our craft, and we are proud to recognize their exceptional contributions to film and television during a time when their work, and their perseverance, matters more than ever.”
The SOC will also introduce its inaugural Technical Achievement Award during the awards ceremony scheduled for Saturday, March 7. In light of the prolonged slowdown in U.S. production and the challenges faced by its members and industry partners, the 2026 SOC Awards will be held as a virtual livestream event. Watch parties are planned for Los Angeles, New York City, and Atlanta.
