Billionaire Stephen Cloobeck, Donor to Eric Swalwell, Faces Four Felony Charges in LA
Los Angeles Billionaire Stephen Cloobeck Turns Himself in Amid Witness Intimidation Charges
Los Angeles billionaire and prominent political donor Stephen Cloobeck surrendered to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, following an arrest warrant linked to allegations of witness intimidation. Authorities confirmed his arrest, which stems from a larger investigation involving his fiancée, Adva Lavie.
Cloobeck was taken into custody on Tuesday and subsequently released after posting a bail of $300,000. He faces four felony counts related to the case involving Lavie.
Lavie, an LA model and social media influencer known as Mia Ventura, has been charged with six felony counts, including burglary and identity theft. The allegations against her include burglarizing homes of individuals she met on dating platforms and defrauding men out of money. In March, she was charged with two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information, two counts of grand theft, and multiple counts related to residential burglary.
Cloobeck is accused of reaching out to several victims of Lavie’s alleged scams through texts and calls, attempting to dissuade them from cooperating with law enforcement.
The case has drawn attention, partly due to Cloobeck’s previous connections to political figures, including his hosting of Congressman Eric Swalwell at his Beverly Hills mansion amidst Swalwell’s faltering campaign for governor.
The investigation is being conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Los Angeles Police Department and the LA Sheriff’s Department.
