Billie Eilish Concert Film ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour’ Shares New Footage at CinemaCon
The 3D concert film Hit Me Hard and Soft, showcasing Billie Eilish’s latest tour in support of her third studio album, premiered at CinemaCon on Thursday, as Paramount Pictures unveiled its upcoming projects. This film represents a significant development in the concert film genre, co-directed by Eilish and renowned filmmaker James Cameron.
Set to debut on May 8, the film features exclusive footage presented only to the CinemaCon audience. During the event in Las Vegas, Eilish and Cameron shared their insights on the concert experience and the innovative filming techniques involved. Cameron emphasized the unprecedented scale of the production, stating, “No one has shot a concert film on this scale.”
Eilish expressed her dedication to her fans, stating, “My fans are everything and they all deserve something very special, a VIP experience, whether they can make it to my concerts or not.” The film captures vibrant performances both on stage and behind the scenes, promising viewers an immersive experience, especially with the use of 3D glasses that create the sensation of being present at the concert.
Titled Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live In 3D), this film captures the energy of her sold-out world tour, offering a unique concert experience to audiences.
The project marks a collaboration between Paramount Pictures, Lightstorm Earth, Darkroom Records, and Interscope Films, and features Eilish alongside her brother, Finneas O’Connell.
The partnership for the film was first announced during Eilish’s performance at the sold-out Co-op Live show in Manchester on July 19, 2025, where she humorously noted that she would likely wear the same outfit for continuity. Notably, Cameron was present that evening, and Eilish acknowledged the additional cameras around the stage.
Hit Me Hard And Soft has already made waves in the awards circuit, with seven Grammy nominations in 2025, bringing Eilish’s total nominations to 34. She holds nine Grammy awards and has received two Academy Awards for Best Original Song: one for “What Was I Made For?” from the blockbuster Barbie and another for “No Time to Die” from the 2021 James Bond film, both with collaboration from Finneas O’Connell.
Previously, R.J. Cutler created a documentary about Eilish titled The World’s A Little Blurry, which was released in 2021 for Apple.
