Big VIII League Showcases Stellar Performances on Wednesday
Wednesday marked an impressive day in the Big VIII League, featuring standout performances from teams including Norco, Corona, and Corona Santiago.
In a commanding 8-0 victory over Eastvale Roosevelt, Jordan Ayala of Norco struck out 10 batters across five innings, contributing two hits and three RBIs to his team’s success.
Meanwhile, Corona triumphed with a decisive 16-2 win against Corona Centennial, thanks to Danny De La Rose’s remarkable performance. De La Rose went five for five at the plate with five RBIs, while teammates Logan Pascarella, Trey Ebel, and Jesiah Andrade each hit home runs.
Corona Santiago also had a noteworthy outing, defeating King 17-1. Striker Pence made headlines with a grand slam, finishing the game with six RBIs, while Troy Randall contributed with a home run and two hits.

Harvard-Westlake secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, with Evan Alexander striking out 11 batters while allowing just one hit, helping the Wolverines tie for first place.
Chaminade dominated Bishop Alemany 7-0, with Jackson Schroeder striking out eight batters in six innings. Isaac Hearn contributed a double and a triple for the Eagles.
