Beloved Actress Rachael Carpani Passes Away at 45: Remembering Her Roles in Home and Away and NCIS: Los Angeles
Actress Rachael Carpani Passes Away at 45
Rachael Carpani, renowned for her role in the Australian drama McLeod’s Daughters, has died at the age of 45. The actress, who appeared in nearly 180 episodes of the series, was confirmed deceased by her family on Instagram.
In a heartfelt statement, Tony and Gael Carpani announced, “It is with great sadness that we announce that our beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, in the early hours of Sunday 7th December.”
Carpani had been fighting a chronic illness before her unexpected death earlier this month. Her family described her passing as peaceful, despite the struggles she faced.
In addition to McLeod’s Daughters, where she played the sweet-natured Jodi Fountain from 2001 to 2009, Carpani had a recurring role in the Channel 7 soap Home and Away. She also made appearances in American productions, including NCIS: Los Angeles, A&E’s The Glades, and the 2020 film The Way Back, starring Ben Affleck.
In a prior interview with 7News, Carpani discussed her decision to relocate to the United States, so she would not be solely recognized as “Jodi from McLeod’s Daughters” in her home country.
In 2021, she disclosed that she had undergone emergency surgery due to abdominal pain, though the specifics of her illness were never fully revealed.
