Behind the Scenes of BTS’ Special Performance at the Guggenheim for the Tonight Show
Trending on Billboard
On Wednesday morning, March 25, BTS brought a unique blend of performance art to the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, coinciding with their appearance on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* later that evening.
*Billboard* reporters were on hand as RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook performed two tracks from their new album, *ARIRANG*, which was released earlier in March. The songs featured were “SWIM,” the album’s lead single, and “2.0.”
Approximately 150 fans were invited to the exclusive event, with strict no-phone policies enforced. The group showcased their talent in the Guggenheim’s breathtaking main lobby, performing in a multi-story round. While RM was able to dance during “SWIM,” he opted to sit on a stool for “2.0” as he is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained shortly before their March 21 comeback concert in Seoul.
As previously announced, BTS will appear on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* that same evening for their first full-group late-night interview since reuniting. One of the Guggenheim performances will be featured during the episode, while the second performance is scheduled to air on Thursday, March 26.
This showcase at the Guggenheim and the upcoming *Fallon* interview coincide with BTS’s promotion of *ARIRANG*, which marks their first full-length album since the 2020 *Billboard 200* chart-topping release, *Be*. Just a few days earlier, the members participated in a Spotify fan event where they answered questions from ARMY and performed.
Viewers can look forward to BTS’s interview and the first of their two Guggenheim performances on *Fallon* at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
