Behind the Glamour: Jade Shenker from Manhattan on Reality TV Costs and Her Most Complimented Skin Treatment
In the fast-paced world of Manhattan’s luxury real estate, Jade Shenker is once again making waves. The second season of Owning Manhattan premieres on Friday, December 5, featuring Shenker alongside Ryan Serhant and the formidable SERHANT team. This new season promises to delve deeper into the ultra-luxury real estate market while showcasing Shenker’s influence across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle as she navigates multimillion-dollar deals.
Reflecting on her return to the screen, Shenker described her nerves from the previous season as having faded amid her hectic schedule. “Last year, I was super nervous… this year, I think it hasn’t hit me yet because I’m so busy. I’m very tuned into work still and the time is just flying,” she shared. Shenker recently hosted a VIP screening, where she viewed the premiere episode for the first time, expressing excitement about the opportunity to share her authentic self. “You get to see a version of me that’s the real me—not the me when I’m going through the hardest time of my life. I’m excited to just be able to inspire other women and people.”
Shenker also emphasized her comfort with the camera, likening it to an everyday conversation. “I honestly forget that the camera is there,” she said. She acknowledged the expenses associated with filming, especially regarding makeup and wardrobe. “I learned pretty early on during Season 1 that I should either just do light glam or hire someone, because I’m not good at doing my own makeup unless it’s very simple."
Her approach to beauty is refreshingly simple. “For me, less is more. I think we’re all very naturally beautiful. I don’t do foundation, typically, even when we’re filming. I think it’s awesome to see real skin, real texture, anything,” she asserted. On-screen, she noted her preference for latex outfits, explaining, “It’s edgy, but it’s also sexy. It’s not showy, but I love it.”
When discussing personal rewards, Shenker reflected on her financial acumen. “I have never gifted myself with things when I land. In my head, I always think: ‘Well, it’s my job to do that,’” she said, adding that she finds empowerment in managing her investments. “It’s really empowering to be able to do that on your own.”
Amid her busy schedule, she finds time for self-care, particularly enjoying QC Spa on Governor’s Island, which she describes as a hidden gem. “I can bring my laptop. You can sit by the pool and work. It doesn’t feel like you’re in the city,” she remarked. Additionally, she trusts her skincare routine to professionals like Susan at Skin by Susan, and she enjoys Skinvive, an injection of hyaluronic acid that enhances her skin’s appearance.
Beyond her return to reality television, Shenker is preparing to launch a denim collection, with a music video debuting on December 12. She shared details about her uniquely designed low-rise jeans that cater to shorter torsos. “I actually physically designed it myself,” she elaborated, excited about creating something that resonates with women. “It’s so crazy to me that there are so many business owners who are men, but then they’re creating women’s products, when women are 80 percent of consumers.”
With the latest season of Owning Manhattan and her new fashion venture, Shenker remains a prominent figure to watch in the realm of luxury real estate and beyond.
