Bad Bunny Makes History at 2026 Grammys
Bad Bunny triumphed at the 2026 Grammy Awards, taking home three prestigious awards, including Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. The Grammy ceremony, held on February 1 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, marked a significant milestone as it was the first time a Spanish-language artist won this honor.
Upon being announced as the Album of the Year recipient by Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, fought back tears as he made his way to the stage. Expressing his emotions, he began his acceptance speech in Spanish, giving a heartfelt shout-out to Puerto Rico. "Puerto Rico, believe me when I say we’re a lot bigger than 100 by 35," he remarked, referencing the island’s dimensions.

In his speech, Bad Bunny expressed gratitude, stating, "Nothing exists that we can’t achieve. Thank you God. Thank you to the Academy. Thank you to all the people who have believed in me throughout my career." He also dedicated the award to those who had to leave their homeland in pursuit of their dreams, adding, "To all the people who have lost a loved one and have needed to keep going with much strength, this award is for you."
His triumph at the ceremony was not limited to a single award; he also won Best Música Urbana Album for DTMF and Best Global Music Performance for his song "EoO."
Bad Bunny faced formidable competition in the Album of the Year category, contending against notable artists such as Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Leon Thomas, Tyler, the Creator, and Clipse.
Following the launch of his album, which translates to "I Should Have Taken More Pictures," Bad Bunny discussed its inspiration during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, emphasizing the importance of cherishing moments and connections.

As he plans his next performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on February 8, Bad Bunny reflects on the impact of his artistry. He stated, "It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history."
