Avatar: Fire and Ash Arrives on Disney+ – Here’s What to Know
Avatar: Fire and Ash is set to debut on Disney+ on June 24. The announcement came during Disney’s Upfront presentation in New York on Tuesday. This shift to streaming follows a 196-day theatrical run after the film’s initial release on December 10, 2025.
The film, a creation of James Cameron, has proven to be a box office success, becoming the third installment in the franchise to surpass the $1 billion mark.
Set shortly after Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: Fire and Ash explores the challenges faced by Jake and Neytiri’s family as they navigate grief and confront a new, aggressive Na’vi tribe called the Ash People, led by the formidable Varang.
The film features an ensemble cast that includes Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington, along with Sigourney Weaver, who announced the release date during the event, as well as Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Oona Chaplin, Bailey Bass, and David Thewlis.

Cameron directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. It’s produced by Lightstorm Entertainment and distributed by 20th Century Studios.
