The new single “Together” diverges from introspective electronica, offering an upbeat, dance-oriented sound. This fresh release showcases a lively bounce, appealing to fans of vibrant music.
The Avalanches, consisting of Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi, and Andy Szekeres, first gained recognition with their groundbreaking 2000 album, Since I Left You. This debut cleverly amalgamated snippets from hundreds of songs by artists such as Françoise Hardy, Sérgio Mendes, Raekwon, and Madonna, resulting in timeless tracks like “Frontier Psychiatrist.”
After 16 years, the band’s follow-up album, Wildflower, topped the ARIA Albums Chart upon its release. Their third album, We Will Always Love You, launched in 2020 and won the prestigious Australian Music Prize for best album of the year.
In 2024, their collaboration with Jamie XX produced “All You Children,” but “Together” appears poised to initiate another album cycle. This release is part of a campaign titled “Superfun,” featuring an animated video showcasing nostalgic tech like an iPod and a Nokia 3310 embarking on a whimsical adventure.
A cryptic statement related to the release asks, “How are you looking after your memories? At Takumi digital archives your most treasured moments are safe with us.”
The engaging music video for “Together,” directed and animated by Jonathan Zawada, is now available for streaming.
