Ashton Kutcher Stars in Ryan Murphy’s New Series About a Drug That Enhances Beauty
Ashton Kutcher stars in FX’s upcoming thriller series The Beauty, showcased in the trailer where he declares, “I’m the greatest goddamn advertisement for the hottest new super drug that makes you effortlessly beautiful.” However, this super drug harbors unsettling consequences.
Developed by Ryan Murphy and Matthew Hodgson, The Beauty draws inspiration from a comic book series by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. The story unfolds within the high-stakes world of fashion, where international supermodels face a growing threat as they mysteriously die in gruesome ways. The narrative follows FBI Agents Cooper Madsen, portrayed by Evan Peters, and Jordan Bennett, played by Rebecca Hall, as they travel to Paris to uncover the dark truth behind these incidents.
Their investigation reveals a sexually transmitted virus that grants ordinary individuals stunning physical perfection, yet comes with horrifying side effects. Their search leads them into a dangerous confrontation with Kutcher’s character, a shadowy tech billionaire known as “The Corporation,” who has devised a miracle drug called “The Beauty.” He is determined to protect his vast empire, resorting to drastic measures, including unleashing his lethal enforcer, “The Assassin,” played by Anthony Ramos. Amid the chaos, Jeremy, portrayed by Jeremy Pope, emerges as a desperate outsider seeking purpose as the agents rush through cities like Paris, Venice, Rome, and New York to thwart a threat that could change the course of humanity.
The Beauty explores fundamental questions about the lengths one might go to achieve perfection.
The cast also features notable names such as Bella Hadid, Isabella Rossellini, Ben Platt, Jessica Alexander, and Vincent D’Onofrio.
Created and written by Murphy and Hodgson, the series is executive produced by Murphy, Hodgson, Peters, Ramos, Pope, along with Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, Michael Uppendahl, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Gitter, Peter Schwerin, and consultant Jeremy Haun. Produced by 20th Television, The Beauty is set to premiere on January 21, with three episodes airing at 9 p.m. ET on Hulu and FX.
The trailer and a previously released teaser are available for viewing.
