Ariana Grande’s album Eternal Sunshine continues to resonate with audiences two years after its release. On March 8, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced new certifications for the project, highlighting its enduring popularity.
The announcement coincided with the second anniversary of Grande’s Billboard 200-topping seventh studio album. Eternal Sunshine has achieved double Platinum status, signifying 2 million equivalent units sold since its launch in 2024. Additionally, two singles from the album, “Yes, And?” and “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),” which both topped the Billboard Hot 100, received new accolades. “Yes, And?” has been certified double Platinum, while “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” reached quadruple Platinum.
Other tracks from Eternal Sunshine, including “Intro (End of the World)” and “Supernatural,” also received Platinum certifications from the RIAA on Sunday.
Grande’s album initially went Platinum in September 2024, just months after its release. Now, as the pop star celebrates the album’s second anniversary, she expressed her gratitude on Instagram, saying, “happy two years of eternal sunshine. my favorite project yet. thank you for your love, i love you endlessly…”
Looking ahead, Grande is set to embark on a tour in support of Eternal Sunshine, beginning in June and concluding in August. The schedule includes performances in Los Angeles, New York City, London, and more. Following this tour, she plans to take a break from live performances, having referred to the tour as her “last hurrah … for now.”
“I feel very privileged and grateful to learn that there can be room for different creative endeavors,” she told Amy Poehler in November. “The last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up. I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time. So I’m going to give it my all.”
