Ariana Grande made a nostalgic appearance at the 2026 Golden Globes, reviving her iconic ponytail—a hairstyle that has become closely associated with her over the years. The 32-year-old performer, who has donned this look for over a decade, grabbed attention with its sleek design.
The ponytail, described as ultra-sleek, featured a left side part with a lock of hair elegantly falling in front of her face, while the volume and curl at the back added a dramatic flair.

Grande’s hairstyle complemented her all-black ensemble beautifully as she graced the red carpet at the award show held in Beverly Hills. Her elegant floor-length gown, designed by Vivienne Westwood Couture, featured off-the-shoulder straps, a V-cut back, and a sculptural skirt that elegantly flared from the waist.
Her accessories included a delicate diamond necklace and stud earrings, while her makeup was kept subtle with a light pink lip and minimal eye makeup.
As a nominee for her role of Glinda in Wicked: For Good, Grande’s longtime association with her iconic ponytail dates back to September 2012, when she first showcased the look at Variety’s Power of Youth event.
The evolution of her ponytail reached new heights at the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival when she sported a straightened version of the style, which she paired with playful cat ears while performing on stage.

Over the years, Grande’s ponytail has transformed into numerous styles, gracing red carpets at events such as the 2016 Grammy Awards, the 2016 American Music Awards, and her headlining performance at Coachella in 2019.
In her 2018 Fader cover story, Grande expressed pride in her hair’s evolution, stating, “The pony has also gone through an evolution, and I’m proud of that.” Reflecting on her style journeys, she remarked, “Old pony? I don’t know if she’s that girl. But new pony? I like her. It’s like a Victoria’s Secret angel without angel wings.”
Emphasizing her connection to her hair, Grande noted, “I feel like there’s a thousand different ways to do a ponytail. A million! It brings me so much joy, honestly. Every time I put my hair up, it’s like a surprise.” She added, “Every time I tie it up is like the first time. It’s like true love.”
