Ariana Grande Expresses Interest in Miss Piggy Movie
Ariana Grande recently indicated her openness to potentially joining the upcoming Miss Piggy movie, produced by Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone. The pop star shared her thoughts during a segment on the Entertainment Tonight pre-show ahead of the 2026 Golden Globes, where she was asked about the film.
“I mean, I’m open, hello,” Grande, 32, responded with a laugh when probed about the project. She further added, “No, I’m kidding, I’m kidding, I’m kidding. I, you know, I’m a big fan of The Muppets.”
Grande’s lighthearted remarks came following speculation that she might join the film, which Lawrence had previously confirmed during an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast in November 2025.
Lawrence’s Enthusiasm for Grande’s Involvement
During a subsequent interview on the Golden Globes carpet, Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier referred to the rumor about Grande’s potential casting. Lawrence, 35, responded jokingly, “Oh, she didn’t seem excited? That’s your casting. We did not, that was the first time she was hearing.”
Further discussing the buzz, Lawrence acknowledged the role of social media in spreading rumors. “I guess it was one of those Twitter rumors. They’re good at those,” she remarked, expressing her desire for Grande to be part of the film: “If she wants to be in the movie, I would love for her to be in the movie.”
Project Background and Future Plans
The Miss Piggy film project, which has been a topic of conversation among the stars, is expected to feature both Lawrence and Stone in star roles, as teased by Lawrence who stated, “We have to… It’s f—– up that we haven’t done a movie together.”
In a recent interview, Stone clarified that neither she nor Lawrence would be portraying Miss Piggy. "First of all, that is the biggest insult to Miss Piggy I’ve ever heard," Stone stated, emphasizing the character’s iconic status and adding, “Miss Piggy is playing Miss Piggy.”
As anticipation builds for more announcements regarding the film, the stars’ playful interactions add excitement to this project centered around the beloved Muppet character.
