Anyma Cancels Coachella 2026 Performance Due to High Winds: Here’s What Happened
Anyma’s Coachella Performance Canceled Due to Weather Conditions
Dance artist Anyma’s highly anticipated performance at Coachella 2026 was abruptly canceled just 15 minutes after its scheduled midnight start on April 10. The decision came on Weekend One of the two-weekend festival, with festival officials emphasizing safety as the primary concern.
As the clock struck midnight, a message appeared on the Coachella Stage screens stating, “Due to strong winds affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform tonight. Coachella and Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority.”
Despite the setback, Anyma remains scheduled to perform next weekend.
In a heartfelt Instagram comment shared after the cancellation, Anyma expressed his disappointment, stating, “I’m sorry everyone. We’ve done everything in our control to build the show I’ve worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first and we’re working on a solution now.”
Although the main stage was set with musical equipment and props, it appears that the strong winds impacted only Anyma’s performance. Concurrent shows continued without interruption, and many festival-goers were redirected to other performances, including Gordo at the Yuma Tent, Sexyy Red in the Sahara Tent, and Blood Orange at the Mojave. Others chose to leave the festival altogether.
The canceled performance was meant to mark the global debut of Anyma’s new production, ÆDEN. This show was expected to follow his recent residency at Sphere Las Vegas, where he unveiled his celebrated audiovisual production, The End of Genesys.
Recent singles and music videos suggest that Anyma’s new artistic direction features themes of ancient ruins and cyborg angels, as illustrated in his collaborations with Joji on "Beautiful" and LISA on "Bad Angel."
As fans await his next scheduled performance, the impact of this unexpected cancellation on Anyma’s creative trajectory remains to be seen.
