Anna Cathcart and Sang Heon Lee Share Insights on the Last Scenes of ‘XO, Kitty’ Season 3 and Exciting Hopes for Season 4
SPOILER ALERT: This article includes spoilers for Season 3 of Netflix’s ‘XO, Kitty.’
In a pivotal moment for Min Ho Moon, portrayed by Sang Heon Lee, Season 3 of XO, Kitty hints at significant developments in the finale’s closing scene. As Kitty prepares for a winter break trip to Portland with Min Ho, a key conversation suggests that he will soon meet her inner circle, with only Dan Covey, played by John Corbett, left to encounter.
Corbett’s character, known for his supportive role in Season 1, previously comforted Kitty during a romantic crisis before her mid-semester break. His return seems critical as the storyline progresses.
“I think it would be so fun to see [Min Ho] in the Covey house," Cathcart expressed. "Kitty is excited to invite him into her world, as they navigate the differences between their backgrounds. It would undoubtedly bring them closer together.”
Despite the absence of Dr. Covey and his wife, Trina (Sarayu Blue), since their initial appearance, characters from Jenny Han’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy, like Lana Condor’s Lara Jean, have appeared in subsequent seasons. In Season 3, Lara Jean assists Kitty both personally and academically, encouraging her to apply to New York University.
When Kitty and Min Ho face a mid-season rough patch, Lara Jean travels to Seoul, helping Kitty sort through her feelings about her future. “All three sisters have grappled with the challenge of balancing a partner with their personal aspirations,” Cathcart noted, acknowledging the weight of familial advice in their decisions.
Janelle Parrish’s Margot, the eldest daughter of the Covey family, also dealt with relationship dynamics as she transitioned to St. Andrew’s University. Lara Jean’s previous conflict of staying with Peter Kavinsky while separated by distance further emphasizes the complexities the sisters face.
“This season highlights Kitty’s journey as she grapples with decisions around love and education,” Cathcart remarked. “Hearing from Lara Jean reinforces that love is worth the risk, even amid uncertainties.”
As the season unfolds, Kitty successfully gains admission to NYU, which complicates her relationship with Min Ho post-breakup. “I hope Kitty will choose what feels right for her, which seems to lead her back to Min Ho,” Cathcart added. “The challenges of college could bring new dynamics to their relationship, but their commitment is unwavering.”
With heightened emotions and pivotal choices ahead, Season 3 leaves viewers anticipating how Kitty’s decisions will shape her future alongside Min Ho.
