Amy Schumer has opened up about her marriage to chef Chris Fischer, sharing insights amidst speculation about a potential split.
In an Instagram Reel posted on December 1, the 44-year-old comedian stated, “Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism.” This comment came during a broader discussion about her recent health journey.
“Fingers crossed we make it through,” Schumer added, affirming her admiration for Fischer by saying, “He’s the best.”
Rumors regarding a separation have circulated over the past few weeks. On November 6, Schumer addressed the speculation directly, posting on her Instagram Stories that she and Fischer were “still married.”
Just days later, on November 13, a source informed PEOPLE that the couple was “privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have.”

The source also stated, “They are both committed to the relationship.”
In the same Instagram Reel, Schumer addressed criticism regarding her recent 50-pound weight loss, which she attributed to her diagnosis of Cushing syndrome. “Sorry for whatever feeling it’s giving you that I lost that weight,” she remarked. “I’ve had plastic surgery over the years and I use monjouro. Sorry to anyone they lets down. I’m pain free.”
Schumer and Fischer were married in February 2018, shortly after they began dating in November 2017. Their son, Gene David, was born in 2019. In her 2019 Netflix special, “Amy Schumer: Growing,” Schumer revealed that Fischer is on the autism spectrum.
This past February, Schumer humorously acknowledged their seven-year anniversary by joking about their prenuptial agreement, stating, “7 years ago we signed a prenup and haven’t had to utilize it! Love you babe,” accompanied by a photo from their wedding.
Recently, the creator of “Inside Amy Schumer” deleted several photos from her Instagram profile, including those featuring Fischer. She noted in a November 11 post, “I actually left my house tonight. Who’s proud? I’m feeling good and happy. Deleted my old pics for no reason!”
On November 29, Schumer shared playful pictures of Gene, who appeared to be having fun jumping into the frame with her. “Trying to go to the party but someone won’t go to bed,” she humorously captioned.
