Amy Duggar Shares Her Thoughts on Cousin Joseph Duggar’s Arrest and How She’s Feeling
Amy Duggar King Criticizes Cousin Joseph Following Arrest on Child Molestation Charges
Amy Duggar King has emerged as a prominent critic of her cousin Joseph Duggar following his arrest on child molestation charges. Joseph was taken into custody on March 18, 2026, for unlawful sexual activity with a minor, stemming from allegations by a 14-year-old girl who accused him of molestation in Florida in 2020. According to reports, the victim stated that Joseph later apologized for his actions, which she claimed ceased after that.
In response to the allegations, Amy expressed her profound dismay. “I am sickened, heartbroken, and deeply angry,” she told Us Weekly. Her immediate thoughts, she noted, are with the victim, emphasizing that the child deserved safety and trust. “The courage it took for her to come forward, especially after years of carrying something so heavy, cannot be overstated,” she added.
Two days after Joseph’s arrest, his wife Kendra Duggar was also arrested, facing four counts of child endangerment unrelated to Joseph’s case. Kendra was released on bond on March 20, 2026. Shortly thereafter, Joseph was extradited to Florida, where he pleaded not guilty and was released on a $600,000 bail.
Following Kendra’s arrest, Amy initially offered prayers for her but reevaluated her position after the revelations regarding Kendra’s charges. “I think that was a plot twist that no one saw coming,” Amy commented to TMZ, acknowledging the evolving nature of the information available.
In an Instagram post detailing her last communication with Joseph, Amy disclosed that she had not "seen or heard" from him in five years. Reflecting on their previous relationship, she described the time spent together, noting that she grew up around Joseph’s family. She recounts a brief acquaintance with Kendra, who she found to be sweet-natured.
Amy also expressed concern for Joseph and Kendra’s four children, stating she had “no idea” of their whereabouts following the arrests. “I just hope and pray they are being well taken care of, and someone is holding them tight and that they are safe,” she remarked, revealing her lack of familiarity with the children.
Moreover, Amy Duggar King took a temporary hiatus from social media after the news broke. "I feel emotionally exhausted… My heart hurts," she conveyed in a TikTok video. Addressing Joseph’s comments about reading the Bible in solitary confinement, Amy criticized the notion that faith serves as a public relations strategy. “You can read scripture day and night, all the time, and still avoid the truth,” she argued.
As the situation develops, Amy has continued to openly voice her feelings regarding the ongoing scandal, illustrating the emotional turmoil surrounding her family during this challenging time.
