AMP Begins Global Sales for Dafne Keen and Aidan Gillen’s Crime Thriller ‘Driver’
Alliance Media Partners Unveils New Thriller ‘Driver’ for Global Sales at Cannes
Alliance Media Partners (AMP) has announced that it has acquired Driver, a crime thriller set in London featuring Dafne Keen (Deadpool & Wolverine) and Aidan Gillen (Peaky Blinders). The company will kick off worldwide sales of the film at the upcoming Cannes Marché du Film.
Driver marks the feature directorial debut of Patrick Ireland, known for Ill Fares The Land. The project is produced by Adriel Thomas, Byron Ross, and Michael Safai of Playhouse Pictures, in conjunction with Paul Thompstone from Studio Atlantic and Vacancy Films.
The film follows Trey, an ex-convict turned night driver, who forms a deep connection with Camden (Keen), an escort. As their bond grows, they are threatened by the violent underworld that surrounds them. Gillen portrays Dickinson, a menacing figure from Trey’s past.
“I can’t wait to dive into such a complex role in Patrick’s honest, raw, and compassionate story. Patrick finds light in the dark, and this is a world I had to be a part of,” Keen commented, also serving as an executive producer for the film. Production is slated to commence in fall 2026, with the lead role of Trey yet to be cast; several actors are currently under consideration, with casting directed by Ajo Kacmar of IO Casting.
“Driver is a deeply human story about two damaged people trying to reclaim a sense of agency in a world that has systematically stripped it from them,” Ireland remarked. He expressed enthusiasm for working with Keen and Gillen, stating, “Dafne and Aidan are extraordinary actors, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring this world to life with them.”
Founded in 2017, AMP is the media division of Alliance Capital Partners, specializing in production, financing, and sales.
“Driver is a fresh, contemporary take on the British crime thriller: intimate, dangerous, and emotionally charged, with a morally complex relationship at the heart of its underworld story,” said Anthony Buckner, AMP’s Head of Sales and Acquisitions. He added that Keen and Gillen’s performances will capture the attention of buyers at Cannes.
