American Film Market Announces Plans for 2026 Edition
American Film Market Returns to Los Angeles in 2026
The Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) has announced that the 2026 American Film Market (AFM) will take place from November 10 to 15 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. This venue hosted the event last fall following a contentious one-year relocation to Las Vegas. The upcoming market will be the first under the leadership of Jackie Brenneman, who has succeeded longtime CEO Jean Prewitt.
In an email to stakeholders on Wednesday, Paul Bales, IFTA board chair and COO & Partner at The Asylum, expressed enthusiasm for the return to Los Angeles. “The industry response to our Los Angeles homecoming in 2025 confirmed that the Fairmont venue, coupled with screenings at the AMC Century City 15, was the best setting to support the full scope of the Market’s business activity. In addition to the sophisticated appeal of the hotel, it allows you and other participants easy access and connection to Los Angeles and the full ecosystem for production, financing, distribution, the agencies, and creative leadership,” he stated.
Bales emphasized the market’s importance, noting that AFM has long served as a premier global marketplace for the film and television sectors, uniting representatives from over 85 countries. “Building on the momentum of last year, we approach AFM 2026 with optimism and a clear focus on delivering a Market that reflects the strength of this community and actively supports its future,” he said.
Registration for returning exhibitors will open on March 31, followed by new exhibitors on April 13. Buyer and attendee registration is set to commence in June.
