Amazon MGM Studios Teams Up with Jennifer Salke to Bring ‘Good Bones’ to TV, Adapted by Sam Lansky
Amazon MGM Studios Acquires Sam Lansky’s ‘Good Bones’ in Competitive Bidding
In a highly contested bidding war, Amazon MGM Studios has secured the rights to Sam Lansky’s psychosexual short story, Good Bones. The project will be executive produced by Jennifer Salke through her production company, Sullivan Street Productions, which operates under a first-look deal with Amazon.
Good Bones, set to be developed for Prime Video, is characterized as an erotic thriller set against the backdrop of the country music scene. While specific plot details remain undisclosed, it is confirmed that the narrative will take place in Nashville and involve elements of house flipping and renovation, as suggested by its title.
Lansky will not only write the adaptation but also join Salke and Matt Milam as an executive producer. RaeAnn Bussola, who initially brought the project to Sullivan Street, will oversee its development.
Lansky, a former West Coast Editor of Time, gained recognition for profiling Taylor Swift as the magazine’s Person of the Year in 2023. He has authored two books, The Gilded Razor and Broken People, and recently co-wrote the film I Know What You Did Last Summer, set for release in 2025. His track record includes television projects with major studios such as Netflix, Sony, 20th Century Studios, and Lionsgate. Lansky is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
Jennifer Salke founded Sullivan Street after stepping down from her role as head of Amazon MGM Studios last year. Matt Milam oversees film and television for the company, which recently secured another literary property: Kirsty Greenwood’s forthcoming novel, Romantic Hero, which will be adapted into a movie by Peter Chiarelli.
Since transitioning to producing, Salke has been instrumental in advancing several projects, including the upcoming film Honeymoon with Harry, which begins production this month in Australia, featuring an ensemble cast including Kevin Costner, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Sarah Pidgeon. She is also producing Red, White & Royal Wedding, the sequel to the hit film Red, White & Royal Blue. Under her leadership, Amazon MGM Studios has developed a range of successful titles, including The Boys, Fallout, Cross, Reacher, A Simple Favor, Air, The Idea of You, Road House, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and the current blockbuster, Project Hail Mary.
