Alice Feeney’s New Novel ‘His & Hers’ Being Adapted by Carnival, Creators of ‘All Her Fault’
EXCLUSIVE: Carnival Films is set to produce a new domestic thriller, adapting Alice Feeney’s novel My Husband’s Wife, with Emilia di Girolamo attached to the project. This announcement comes just five days before the novel’s release.
My Husband’s Wife tells the story of Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of a major breakthrough. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she returns home to find another woman claiming to be married to her husband and residing in her house. The narrative unfolds across dual timelines, unraveling themes of deception, obsession, and revenge as secrets come to light.
While casting has yet to be determined, Carnival is preparing to present the project to potential buyers. They secured the rights to the novel in collaboration with Universal International Studios’ scripted development and creative acquisitions and IP teams, under the guidance of Jordan Moblo.
“We’re delighted to welcome Alice Feeney’s addictive new thriller My Husband’s Wife to our slate at Carnival,” said Noemi Spanos, creative director at Carnival. “Alice has crafted a story that captivated us from the first few pages, and we’re honoured that Emilia di Girolamo has joined forces with us as we become the proud creative home for this powerhouse piece of fiction.”
Feeney expressed her excitement, stating that My Husband’s Wife has “found such a good home, with an amazing team of talented people.” Carnival is already known for its successful projects, including Peacock’s most-streamed show in history, All Her Fault, along with other notable productions like The Day of the Jackal and Downton Abbey.
Feeney, who has authored eight novels, recently celebrated the launch of the adaptation of her popular work His & Hers on Netflix. Additionally, her novel Rock Paper Scissors was previously in development with Netflix, in association with The Crown producer Suzanne Mackie.
In this new adaptation, Di Girolamo will serve as the screenwriter while Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant are set to be executive producers alongside Di Girolamo and Feeney.
