Ali Larter Talks About Her 16-Year Marriage to Hayes MacArthur and What Keeps It Strong

Ali Larter has opened up about the foundation of her enduring marriage to Hayes MacArthur after more than 16 years together. The actress, while attending the Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 22, discussed her relationship with MacArthur, highlighting the essential elements that contribute to their bond.
During her interview, Larter emphasized the importance of appreciating daily moments, stating, “Enjoy every day. Try to be really kind.”

Since their wedding on August 1, 2009, at MacArthur’s family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, the couple has welcomed two children: 15-year-old Theodore and 10-year-old Vivienne. Larter expressed her admiration for MacArthur, particularly noting his dedication to their family. “The way that he takes care of our family,” she remarked, also sharing that this characteristic fuels her love for him.
The couple’s journey began when they met on the set of the 2005 film Homo Erectus. They became engaged in December 2007 before tying the knot in 2009, with Larter dressed in a Vera Wang gown and MacArthur in a Ralph Lauren tuxedo.
In 2022, Larter and MacArthur made the decision to build their dream home in Sun Valley, Idaho, after moving from Los Angeles. Reflecting on their new surroundings, Larter described their appreciation for the beauty and tranquility of the mountains. “Most of the time in my life, I feel like I’m going 1,000 miles an hour and these giant rocks chill me out,” she explained. Adding charm to her remarks, she noted, “The mountains have a way of grounding you and slowing you down—especially when you’re stuck in traffic because there’s a herd of elk blocking the road.”
