Alcon Media Group Partners with Parrot Analytics for Strategic IP Planning for The Garfield Movie
EXCLUSIVE: Producer of The Garfield Movie, Alcon Media Group, is teaming up with Parrot Analytics to guide its intellectual property strategy following the recent acquisition of 108 feature films from Village Roadshow Entertainment Group.
This strategic partnership will leverage Parrot’s analytics systems and content valuation tools across Alcon’s projects in film, television, interactive media, and publishing.
The collaboration follows Alcon’s $417.5 million acquisition of Village Roadshow’s film library, which was finalized over the summer of 2025. A subsequent hearing in a Delaware Bankruptcy Court awarded Alcon derivative rights to much of the Village Roadshow library after its parent company entered administration. This development enables Alcon to greenlight new projects based on original copyrighted works.
With the addition of these titles, Alcon is shifting its focus from producing individual films to managing and monetizing a larger catalog. The newly acquired Village Roadshow titles include major franchises such as Mad Max: Fury Road, the Ocean’s Eleven series, the Matrix trilogy, Joker, Ready Player One, the Sherlock Holmes franchise, and Wonka.

Alcon and Parrot will collaborate to identify untapped market demand, evaluate franchise potential, and determine optimal timing for reintroducing existing titles. By utilizing Parrot Analytics’ TV, Movie, and Talent Demand products alongside their Audience Demographics and Audience Sentiment tools, Alcon aims to apply data-driven content valuation to inform strategic decisions.
Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, Co-CEOs of Alcon Media Group, stated, “Our founding principle has always been to be creatively led and to support artists with a disciplined, business-first approach.” They added, “As our library has grown, so has the complexity and opportunity. Partnering with Parrot Analytics gives us a rigorous global view of audience demand and independent, title-level valuation to manage the portfolio with precision and continue delivering high-quality entertainment.”
Based in Los Angeles, Alcon is an independent finance and production company with a portfolio of 35 films, including critically acclaimed titles such as the Academy Award-nominated Blade Runner 2049 and the Best Picture nominee The Blind Side. Their latest projects include the animated adaptation The Garfield Movie.
Since 2015, Alcon has also operated its subsidiary, Alcon Television Group, which is currently in post-production on the Prime Video series Blade Runner 2099, slated for release in 2027. The group has also been behind the sci-fi series The Expanse and the animated children’s series Pete the Cat, developed in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios.
Parrot Analytics is recognized for its proprietary system that offers real-time insights into global demand for intellectual property. Many film and television companies have adopted its tools to strengthen strategic planning, and Alcon is now harnessing this capability.
Wared Seger, CEO of Parrot Analytics, remarked, “Global content valuation is the new standard for modern studios, streamers, and content creators aiming to maximize their investment returns. At this scale, a comprehensive operating system for developing, valuing, and monetizing intellectual property is essential. Our end-to-end entertainment analytics suite transforms content into measurable, comparable, and investable assets without compromising creative ambition, thus maximizing returns for all stakeholders involved.”
