Alanna Bennett Adapting Young Adult Novel for Television
Alanna Bennett, the author and television writer known for her work on XO, Kitty and Roswell, New Mexico, is developing her latest young adult novel, The Education of Kira Greer, into a television series. The adaptation is being produced in collaboration with Gabrielle Union through her production company, I’ll Have Another, alongside Dwyane Wade and Jon Marcus from 59th & Prairie Entertainment. The project is currently under development at Fox Entertainment Studios.
Published by Knopf Penguin Random House in May 2025 as part of a two-book deal, The Education of Kira Greer explores the life of Kia, the second-youngest daughter in one of Hollywood’s most prominent families. The narrative delves into Kia’s experiences as she navigates a public relations romance with pop star Cassius Campbell, prompting her to reassess her identity within the demanding world of fame. The series promises a blend of sweeping romance and a poignant examination of fame and family in the age of social media.
Bennett has established herself as a versatile figure in the entertainment industry. Recently, she served as a producer for the second season of XO, Kitty on Netflix, and previously held the position of co-producer for The Hospital‘s second season on Amazon. She has also worked as an executive story editor on XO, Kitty and has contributed to the CW’s Roswell, New Mexico. Her original romantic comedy feature, Corinne Aster’s Third Act, was recently sold to Orion Pictures. In a directorial capacity, Bennett helmed Fox’s Meet Cute and produced the company’s February series Couldn’t Be You, along with Chef’s Kiss. She is represented by Untitled Entertainment, CAA, Frankfurt Kurnit Klein and Selz, and HG Literary.
