AGC CEO Stuart Ford and COO Miguel Palos Sign New Deals Amid Growing Slate with Netflix Competition Show and Doc Related to ‘Tinder Swindler’
AGC Studios Extends Leadership Contracts Ahead of Cannes Market
As the Cannes market approaches, AGC Studios has announced three-year extensions for CEO Stuart Ford and COO Miguel Palos, both of whom co-founded the company in 2018. Ford will continue to serve as Chairman while also being the largest shareholder, and Palos maintains his founding ownership alongside key investors including ImageNation, Media Net, and Greg Clark.
Ford, a seasoned veteran from IM Global and Miramax, has been integral to AGC’s involvement in the independent film landscape, backing over 51 projects while diversifying into television dramas and factual programming.
Currently, AGC Television is producing Embassy, a geopolitical action thriller featuring Anna Kendrick, Sam Heughan, and J.K. Simmons, as well as Hamburg Days, a biopic series about The Beatles. The company recently wrapped production on Vanished, a mystery thriller starring Kaley Cuoco and Sam Claflin.
In film, AGC Studios is finalizing post-production on several projects, including Babies starring Anna Kendrick and Seth Rogen, Ellie Foumbi’s erotic thriller Fleur with Halle Berry, and Fing!, an adaptation featuring Taika Waititi. AGC is also gearing up for J Blakeson’s Sweat with Ana de Armas and has begun sales for Critterz, an AI-produced project set for the Cannes market.
Additionally, AGC Unwritten, the company’s unscripted division, is in post-production on a documentary for Netflix that explores themes similar to The Tinder Swindler. It is also preparing to launch a new competition show later this year, marking an expansion into the game show genre.
Both Ford and Palos have been business partners for two decades, previously building IM Global and undergoing a series of transformations within the industry. Reflecting on their journey, Ford stated, “Amidst a turbulent media landscape over the past eight years, I’m proud of the stability we’ve created within the company’s management and shareholder ranks which has delivered us safely to where we are in 2026 enjoying what will almost certainly be our most prolific and profitable year so far.”
Palos added, “We’ve continued to evolve AGC into a highly credible industry player across film, scripted TV, unscripted TV, and documentaries… We would not have been able to do so without the continued support of our founding investors, for whom we are incredibly grateful.”
