After-School Employee in Santa Clarita Facing Charges for Inappropriate Behavior with a Child
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Elizabeth Elizarraraz, a 32-year-old resident of Santa Clarita, was arrested on March 12 on multiple charges of sexual misconduct involving a minor at an after-school program. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has since filed six felony counts of lewd acts upon a child against her.
Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have confirmed that Elizarraraz was employed at the facility located on the 24900 block of Newhall Avenue, where she allegedly met her victim, a participant in the program. On March 16, formal charges were brought against her at the San Fernando Courthouse.
Authorities are concerned there may be additional victims due to Elizarraraz’s extensive contact with children in her professional capacity. "Based on the nature of the offenses, coupled with the facts that Ms. Elizarraraz has had contact with numerous juveniles in the course of her employment, detectives believe there may be additional unidentified victims," stated a representative from the sheriff’s department.
While six felony counts have been filed, it remains unclear how many victims are specifically represented in these charges, or over what timeframe the alleged abuse occurred. The identity of the after-school program has not been disclosed, nor has the duration of Elizarraraz’s employment at the facility.
Investigators are seeking further information related to this case. Those who believe they may have relevant insights or who suspect they could be victims are encouraged to come forward.
