Neon Sets Release Date for Acclaimed Animated Film ‘Arco’
Neon has announced that the animated sci-fi fantasy film Arco will have its theatrical release on January 23, 2026, in New York and Los Angeles, followed by a nationwide rollout on January 30. The film previously had a one-week Academy-qualifying run in November.
Upon its release, Arco will debut at AMC Lincoln Square and the Angelika Film Center in New York, and AMC Century City and AMC Burbank in Los Angeles.
Since its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Arco has garnered significant acclaim, winning the Cristal for Best Film at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, along with the Soundtrack Award. The film has also received nominations for Best Animated Feature from esteemed organizations, including the Golden Globes, the Critics Choice Awards, and the European Film Awards, where it is additionally nominated for both the European Film and European Young Audience Awards. It has been recognized by the National Board of Review as Best Animated Feature and recently received a nomination for Best Animated Feature at the London Film Critics Awards.
Directed by breakthrough filmmaker Ugo Bienvenu, Arco is produced by Natalie Portman and Sophia Mas of mountainA, alongside Bienvenu and Felix De Givry of Remembers.
The film features a star-studded voice cast, including Portman, Mark Ruffalo, America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Andy Samberg, and Flea.
Arco tells the story of a 10-year-old boy from a peaceful, distant future who accidentally travels back to the year 2075. In a world threatened by chaos, he forms a heartfelt friendship with a young girl named Iris. Together, along with her trusty robot caretaker Mikki, they embark on a quest to return Arco home, while also facing the challenge of saving the planet.
