Jacobi Jupe Cast in Upcoming ‘The Exorcist’ Film Alongside Scarlett Johansson
In a significant development for horror cinema, Jacobi Jupe has been announced to join Scarlett Johansson in the latest installment of the legendary franchise The Exorcist. This new film will be crafted by acclaimed writer-director Mike Flanagan, positioning itself within the established Exorcist universe but not as a sequel to The Exorcist: Believer.
Production will be spearheaded by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, alongside Morgan Creek Entertainment. Flanagan, who will write and direct the film under his Red Room Pictures banner, will also see Alexandra Magistro take on an executive producer role for the project. David Robinson produces for Morgan Creek, while Jason Blum and Ryan Turek are involved as the respective producer and executive producer for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in New York next year.
Jupe has recently gained recognition for his role as the lead in Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet, which premiered at the 2025 Telluride Film Festival, earning him a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Young Actor.
In addition to his work on Hamnet, Jupe starred alongside Billy Crystal in the Apple TV psychological thriller miniseries Before last year. He also appeared in David Lowery’s Peter Pan and Wendy as Michael Darling. His television credits include Britannia, a series created for Amazon/Epix, and he plays a lead role in the musical podcast Cupid, which was developed by Katy Cavanagh-Jupe and produced by QCode and Double Garage Films.
Jupe is represented by Independent Talent Group, Brillstein Entertainment Group, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox.
