Riverside Man Arrested for Stabbing Death
Riverside police have arrested a 34-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing another man earlier this week. Authorities announced the arrest on Sunday.
John Larry Perryman, of Riverside, is linked to the stabbing death of 35-year-old Julian Hughes from Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of University Avenue and Main Street.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Hughes suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Law enforcement swiftly identified Perryman as the suspect and arrested him within two hours of the attack, with assistance from other city agencies. He has been booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center, facing a murder charge, and is currently being held without bail.
The motive for the stabbing remains unclear, and details surrounding the events leading up to the attack have not been disclosed.
