Actor Aaron Eckhart has commenced work on the action-thriller The Walk-In in Bulgaria, a project produced by Film Bridge International and set to be introduced at the Cannes market.
The film is directed by Roel Reiné, who previously collaborated with Eckhart on the 2024 action film Classified, co-starring Tim Roth and Abigail Breslin. Filming is taking place across various locations in Sofia and throughout Bulgaria.
Written by Scott Windhauser, The Walk-In centers on former CIA operative Hayes, portrayed by Eckhart, who discovers a conspiracy linked to an imminent terrorist attack targeting the G7 Summit.
Film Bridge has secured multiple international distribution partners, including Eagle Pictures (Italy), Vertigo Films (Australia), Wildbunch (Germany, France), Mediasquad (Poland), Falcon Films (Middle East), Kinolights (South Korea), ADS Services (Hungary), Paradise/MGN (CIS & Baltics), AKC Sinema Televizyon (Turkey), Scanbox Entertainment (Scandinavia), Cinesky (Airlines), Karpat Media (Romania), Foxx Media (Czech Republic & Slovakia), Vertical (UK), and YouPlanet Pictures (Spain).
The production team features Ellen Wander of Film Bridge International (Spinning Man), Gabriel Georgiev of Midwest (Savage Hunt), and Choice Film’s Summer Crockett Moore and Zori Davidkova, both of whom worked on Killing Faith.
Funding for the film comes from Calgary-based Orogen Entertainment, with executive producers Blair Ward, Anders Erdén, Lauren Case, and Jeremy Gilman overseeing the project.
Reiné expressed excitement about collaborating with Eckhart again, stating, “After the success of Classified, working with Aaron again felt like the perfect next step. He brings a grounded intensity and emotional depth that elevates every scene. The Walk-In is bigger, darker, and even more ambitious — a character-driven action thriller with real scale and tension.”
