Shohei Ohtani Hits a Home Run, but the Dodgers Fall to the Giants
Dodgers Suffer Fourth Consecutive Loss Against Giants
The Los Angeles Dodgers experienced a setback in their recent game against the San Francisco Giants, suffering a 6-2 defeat that extended their losing streak to four games. As of now, the Dodgers hold a record of 24-18, placing them behind the San Diego Padres in the division standings.
Andrew Friedman, the Dodgers’ president of baseball operations, reflected on the team’s tumultuous journey since winning the World Series last year. He recalled sharing with his wife, Robin, that a second championship would alleviate some of his anxieties during the early months of the new season. “I should have already gotten it before, but now I really get it,” Friedman told The Times on Tuesday, referring to his outlook on managing stress during games. “So now I’m going to be able to have some perspective.”
However, Robin was skeptical of his reassurances. “She was right,” Friedman admitted, acknowledging that his worries often stem from being prepared for worst-case scenarios—a tendency that is both beneficial in sports management and detrimental during tense games.
This latest loss to the Giants highlights the challenges currently facing the Dodgers as they battle through a difficult stretch of the season.
