Cannes Film Festival 2026: Your Guide to Deadline’s Movie Reviews

The 2026 Cannes Film Festival has officially kicked off, with French director Pierre Salvadori’s The Electric Kiss as the opening-night feature.

This year’s festival presents an exciting lineup of filmmakers, featuring notable names such as previous Palme d’Or winners Cristian Mungiu and Hirokazu Kore-eda, as well as two-time Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi and American indie veteran Ira Sachs.

In addition, the festival showcases new works from esteemed auteurs like Pedro Almodóvar, Cristian Mungiu, Guillaume Canet, Nicolas Winding Refn, and Paweł Pawlikowski.
