Metro D Line Extension to Open May 8, Connecting Downtown LA to Beverly Hills
On May 8, a nearly four-mile segment of the Metro D Line extension will officially launch, enhancing public transit options between downtown Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.
The new extension features three underground stations, strategically located to improve rail access to key neighborhoods including Hancock Park, the Fairfax District, and Carthay Circle. This addition aims to facilitate easier travel for residents and visitors alike.
In a sign of the excitement surrounding the extension, Metro’s "Ride the D" promotional merchandise has experienced unprecedented demand, with t-shirts selling out prior to the grand opening.
Previous reports indicated that LA Metro had recently restocked the "Ride the D" t-shirts in anticipation of this significant milestone.
As the opening approaches, the extension is poised to not only improve transit efficiency but also to reshape connectivity within one of Los Angeles’ most vibrant regions.
