Whitney Leavitt Bids Farewell to ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ at Her Last Performance in ‘Chicago’
Whitney Leavitt is stepping away from Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, a move she announced during her final performance in the Broadway production of Chicago on Sunday. The reality television actress turned Broadway performer has been featured in every episode of the Emmy-nominated series, which chronicles the lives of Mormon mom-influencers grappling with a scandal that affects their faith, friendships, and reputations.
The series, which premiered in September 2024, recently faced its own challenges with the pause of production following a domestic violence incident involving fellow cast member Taylor Frankie Paul. Following a video incident showing Paul throwing a metal stool at her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, charges against her were dropped. Despite these setbacks, Hulu has confirmed that filming for Season 5 will resume, although a timeline for production has yet to be announced.

Leavitt, recognized as a standout figure in the MomTok phenomenon, is set to make her feature film debut as both executive producer and star of All for Love (working title), a holiday romantic comedy produced by The Ninth House (which is known for Lifetime’s Forever). She has actively shared her aspirations and developments regarding the movie debut on social media, creating buzz among her fans.
In light of her growing career, Leavitt’s departure comes as little surprise. Earlier this year, her Mormon Wives castmates attended one of her performances, but it remains unclear whether she will return as a guest star or an official cast member in the partially filmed Season 5.
After participating in Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars alongside partner Mark Ballas, Leavitt made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the revival of Chicago, which opened on February 2. The production enjoyed a successful run, with ticket sales soaring to the highest levels since the lucrative holiday season of 2023, leading to a two-week extension. The duo, who reached the semi-finals in the dance competition, reunited for a limited engagement throughout April, concluding on May 3.
