Amazon’s Unscripted Chief Confirms No Active Plans for ‘The Apprentice’ Reboot
Prime Video is reportedly considering a reboot of The Apprentice. The discussion began following a late Wednesday report by the Wall Street Journal, indicating that executives have been contemplating bringing the series back with Donald Trump Jr. as the potential host. However, it became evident that these conversations are still in the preliminary stages, especially after Trump Jr. noted he learned about the discussions from the media.
During a press conference on Thursday, former President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on the idea of his son reviving the competition series that he hosted for 14 seasons.
“He’d be probably good,” Trump stated. “He’s got a little charisma going. You need a little charisma for that sucker.” He added, “Yeah, they told me about it, we’ll see,” reflecting on the potential revival for the now-MGM TV-owned property, originally created in 2004 by Mark Burnett.
An Amazon spokesperson commented on the matter: “Since our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions about what’s next for The Apprentice as a property. The show is not in active development, and any reporting on details of the show or names of potential hosts would be purely speculative.”
Despite the lack of active development, the possibility of a reboot remains open, indicating that the series could one day return.
