Gaia Violo, Creator of ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy,’ Joins Anonymous Content
EXCLUSIVE: Gaia Violo, the creator of the highly anticipated Paramount+ spin-off Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, has secured new representation.
The screenwriter and producer has signed with management company Anonymous Content, which will collaborate with CAA and Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman to represent her.
Set to premiere on January 15 on Paramount+, Violo’s Star Trek spin-off features Holly Hunter in the role of Captain Nahla Ake, the chancellor of the titular academy, alongside Paul Giamatti as the antagonist Nus Braka. Violo also takes on the role of executive producer for the series.
Violo, who earned her MFA in screenwriting from UCLA, previously created the Prime Video thriller series Absentia, which aired for three seasons from 2017 to 2020 and is currently among Netflix’s Top 10 offerings. She has also contributed to Netflix’s In From the Cold and CBS’s Blood and Treasure.
Her accolades include winning the UCLA Writers Showcase and the Samuel Goldwyn Writing Award, in addition to being recognized as a Variety ‘100 to Watch’ honoree.
