United Talent Agency Signs William H. Macy for Representation
United Talent Agency has secured representation for two-time Emmy Award winner and Oscar-nominated actor William H. Macy across all areas.
Macy’s illustrious film career includes an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in the Coen Brothers’ acclaimed film Fargo, as well as notable roles in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights and Magnolia. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Frank Gallagher on Showtime’s Shameless, a role he held from 2011 to 2021, earning six Emmy nominations. Notably, he won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his performance in the film Door to Door.
Currently, Macy is involved in the production of Hulu’s new series The Land, directed by Dan Fogelman. In this series, he stars alongside Christopher Meloni and Mandy Moore, portraying Hank Durkin, the owner of a professional football team based in Cleveland, known colloquially as “The Land.”
Recently, Macy also appeared as Arn Peeples in the Oscar-nominated Netflix film Train Dreams. His other recent projects include Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Soul on Fire, and Edgar Wright’s remake of The Running Man.
Macy has maintained a close collaboration with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet since their initial meeting at Goddard College, where Macy was a student. He originated roles in famous Mamet plays such as American Buffalo and Oleanna. Additionally, Macy has established a career as a director, overseeing several episodes of Shameless and directing feature films like Rudderless and The Layover.
