Johnny Knoxville Reflects on Simi Valley Explosion During ‘Jackass: Best and Last’ Wrap Party
Johnny Knoxville is wrapping up the Jackass franchise in dramatic style, drawing attention and perhaps a few emergency calls from startled locals.
On the final day of filming for Jackass: Best and Last, Knoxville took to Instagram to discuss a significant explosion that shook Simi Valley.
“Apparently people thought a plane had crashed yesterday in Simi Valley,” he noted, alongside a video showcasing the billow of smoke. “Little did they know it was from a monstrous explosion @jemfxpopov created for us for the final day ever of @jackass filming.”
Reflecting on the explosive moment, Knoxville shared, “We were standing near the explosion and couldn’t believe what we were seeing. Immediately after, the entire cast went and hugged @jemfxpopov’s neck. Thank you to Elia, his crew, and the rest of our amazing crew yesterday to make sure we went out with a bang. 26 years and that’s a wrap!! Coming to theaters June 26th, Jackass: Best and Last.”

Co-created by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze, and Knoxville, Jackass aired for three seasons on MTV from 2000 to 2001, leading to several movie adaptations, including Jackass: The Movie (2002), Jackass Number Two (2006), Jackass 3D (2010), and Jackass Forever (2022).
Knoxville also teased the upcoming fifth and final Jackass film, having unveiled the trailer for Jackass: Best and Last during Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas.
