Meghan Markle Joins the Fun on ‘MasterChef Australia’
Meghan Markle is set to make a notable appearance on MasterChef Australia. The Duchess of Sussex has already filmed her role as a guest judge for the current season.
In her capacity as a guest judge, Markle will assist in mentoring some of the competition’s most talented home cooks. According to the production team of MasterChef Australia, she will work alongside judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin, and Jean-Christophe Novelli to guide contestants.
This appearance follows the release of her Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which includes episodes that focus on cooking.
Markle joins a lineup of returning judges this season that features notable names such as Maggie Beer, Curtis Stone, and Rick Stein, as well as new judges Victoria Minell, Vincent Yeow Lim, and Lily Huynh.
Watch on Deadline
Now in its 18th season on Network 10, MasterChef Australia maintains its status as one of the longest-running and most popular cooking competitions globally. The UK original is experiencing a transition, having recently dealt with a controversy surrounding former presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode, both of whom have stepped down. The Australian version is produced by Banijay-backed Endemol Shine Australia.
Markle’s visit marks her first trip to Australia since 2018, accompanying her husband, Prince Harry. Their trip is private, involving visits to charities and other engagements. The royal family has longstanding ties with Australia, where King Charles III is regarded as the Head of State.
