Chili Finger: New Crime-Comedy Starring Bryan Cranston and Judy Greer Lands UK Deal at SXSW
Signature Entertainment Secures UK and Irish Rights to “Chili Finger”
Signature Entertainment has officially acquired the UK and Irish distribution rights to the crime-comedy film Chili Finger, produced by Archstone.
The film features an ensemble cast including Judy Greer (13 Going On 30), Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), and John Goodman (The Big Lebowski).
Chili Finger follows a small-town lawyer, played by Greer, who unexpectedly finds a severed finger in her bowl of chili. Seizing the moment as an opportunity to regain control over her monotonous life, she resorts to blackmailing the fast-food chain involved. However, her plans take a chaotic turn when the wealthy owner sends his former Marine bodyguard, portrayed by Cranston, to investigate the matter.
Produced by Jo Henriquez (Missing) and Sam Sandweiss (1BR), the film is both written and directed by Stephen Helstad, with assistance from Edd Benda. Chili Finger premiered at the South by Southwest Festival last month.
The rights deal was arranged by Signature Entertainment’s Acquisitions & Development Executive Max Hart, teaming up with Archstone.
Hart remarked, “Chili Finger is a wildly entertaining crime comedy, inspired by a stranger-than-fiction true story, which simply has to be seen to be believed. With its brilliant cast and razor-sharp sense of humour, we’re thrilled to bring the film to UK and Irish audiences.”
Jack Sheehan of Archstone added, “We couldn’t be more proud of how Chili Finger has come together—from its early presale in Cannes, through production, and all the way to its premiere at South by Southwest. It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch the film resonate with audiences, and we’re thrilled to have such a great partner in Signature to bring it to UK viewers.”
