Milly Alcock Shares Her Thoughts on Seeking Advice from Previous Supergirl Stars: “They’re Just People”
Milly Alcock is set to make her solo debut in the DC Universe with her portrayal of Kara Zor-El in the upcoming film *Supergirl*.
In a recent interview, Alcock shared her reasons for not reaching out to previous actresses who played the iconic role, including Melissa Benoist from *Supergirl* (2015-2021) and Sasha Calle from *The Flash* (2023). “They’re just people living their lives,” Alcock told *Vanity Fair*. “It’s not like we have this blood bond.”
Following her leading role opposite Julianne Moore in last year’s Netflix film *Sirens*, Alcock emphasized that she also refrained from seeking guidance from the Oscar winner. “You have to respect that they don’t owe you that,” she remarked.

Alcock has gained valuable experience from her time as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in *House of the Dragon*, preparing her for the enthusiastic DC fandom.

“It definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on,” Alcock stated. “We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’s bodies. I can’t really stop them. I can only be myself.”
The film, set to premiere on June 26 in theaters and IMAX, recently released a new trailer featuring Jason Momoa’s antihero Lobo.
