Creative Director of Raw TV Steps Down After Almost Ten Years
Creative Director Liesel Evans Departing Raw TV After Nearly a Decade
Liesel Evans, the Creative Director of Raw TV, is set to leave the company after nearly ten years with the producer of the acclaimed documentary, The Tinder Swindler. Evans’ departure marks a significant transition for the company as she will continue working on current and upcoming projects for the next few weeks.
During her tenure, Evans has contributed to notable productions, including Disney+’s In Vogue: The 90s and ITV’s The Undercover Police Scandal: Love and Lies Exposed. Following her start at All3Media-owned Raw TV in 2017 as Head of UK Factual, she advanced to Creative Director, Factual, establishing herself as a key figure in the organization.
Evans has been instrumental in fostering relationships with streaming platforms, helping Raw become a prolific provider of successful documentaries, particularly for Netflix. Her work includes acclaimed titles such as The Tinder Swindler, *Don’t F*k with Cats, and The Most Hated Man on the Internet.
A strong advocate for female documentary directors, Evans has collaborated with prominent women in the industry, including Jane Preston on In Vogue: The 90s, which featured icons like Anna Wintour and Naomi Campbell. Additionally, director Lucy Wilcox was at the helm of ITV’s Undercover Police Scandal, which is nominated for a BAFTA, showcasing five women recounting their experiences with the Spycops scandal. Evans has also served as executive producer on notable projects like Prime Video’s Dead in the Water and Sky’s The Child in the Box: Who Killed Ursula Herrmann.
In a statement, Raw expressed sadness at Evans’ departure: “We are really sorry to see Liesel go. She has been an absolutely brilliant Creative Director and team member for nearly nine years, always bringing passion, enthusiasm and commitment to any project, as well as an incredible warmth and sense of humour. We are delighted we will be continuing to work with her on current projects and some exciting new commissions. She will be missed enormously day-to-day at Raw, but we understand her decision and wish her the very best for the future.”
The senior team at Raw includes co-founders Bart Layton and Dimitri Doganis, CEO Joely Fether, and Creative Directors Jonny Taylor and Tim Wardle.
