Noel Fisher and Devin Sampson-Craig to Star in Season 5 of ‘Dark Winds’
Noel Fisher and Devin Sampson-Craig Join Recurring Cast of AMC’s Dark Winds for Season 5
Noel Fisher, known for his roles in Shameless and Castle Rock, along with Devin Sampson-Craig from Rez Ball, are set to join the recurring cast of AMC’s Dark Winds for its fifth season, currently in production in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
As the series airs its fourth season on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT, details regarding Season 5 remain under wraps. However, the show received an early renewal prior to the premiere of its current season.
Fisher will portray Michael Jorie, a dangerous character characterized by a distorted sense of righteousness, which drives his involvement in a violent southwestern gang. In contrast, Sampson-Craig will take on the role of Daniel Ironwater, Jr., a ranch-hand grappling with the psychological scars of his Vietnam experience.
Based on the Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman, Dark Winds is set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley. The narrative follows Lt. Joe Leaphorn, portrayed by Zahn McClarnon, as he confronts a series of perplexing crimes that dig into the fabric of his past. Joining him on this journey is his new deputy, Jim Chee (played by Kiowa Gordon), who also contends with unresolved issues from his youth.
The fourth season centers on the search for a missing Navajo girl, propelling Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito (Jessica Matten) beyond the safety of the Navajo Nation into the gritty landscape of 1970s Los Angeles. This high-stakes endeavor pits them against an obsessive killer connected to organized crime.
The cast for Season 4 also features Franka Potente as Irene Vaggan, Isabel DeRoy-Olson as Billie Tsosie—a resilient Navajo teenager seeking freedom from a boarding school—and Chaske Spencer as Sonny, a charming recruiter for a Los Angeles crime ring. Luke Barnett portrays FBI Special Agent Toby Shaw, while Titus Welliver plays Dominic McNair, a ruthless crime boss involved in drug trafficking. Additionally, A Martinez returns as Scarborough Police Department Acting Chief Gordo Sena.
As previously noted, Paola Nuñez and Martin Sensmeier are joining the series as regulars for Season 5.
Created by Graham Roland and showrun by John Wirth, Dark Winds features a team of executive producers including the late Robert Redford, George R.R. Martin, Zahn McClarnon, and others.
