Season 2 Premiere Date Announced for Netflix’s Live-Action ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Series
The second season of Netflix’s live-action series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, is set to premiere on June 25, nearly two years and four months after the debut of its first season.
The returning cast includes Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Elizabeth Yu, Momona Tamada, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee. They will be joined by new cast member Miyako, who portrays Toph, a beloved character from the original Nickelodeon animated series.
A behind-the-scenes video released alongside the announcement offers an in-depth look at Toph, surpassing the insights provided in the teaser trailer unveiled last December. This video also showcases Ba Sing Se, highlighting the construction of the Earth Kingdom capital for Season 2. Viewers can watch the video and see new photos of Season 2 below.
Avatar: The Last Airbender chronicles the journey of Aang (Cormier), the young Avatar, as he seeks to master the four elements—Water, Earth, Fire, and Air—to restore harmony to a world under threat from the Fire Nation. In Season 2, following a bittersweet victory in the Northern Water Tribe against the Fire Nation, Aang, Katara (Kiawentiio), and Sokka (Ousley) embark on a quest to persuade the elusive Earth King to join their fight against the formidable Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim).
