Sean Hayes Cast in Season 5 of The Morning Show
Sean Hayes Joins Apple TV’s The Morning Show for Fifth Season
In a significant casting announcement, Emmy winner Sean Hayes is set to join the fifth season of The Morning Show, the popular Apple TV drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. Hayes will take on the role of Wyatt, the sharp-witted older brother and manager of Bro, portrayed by Boyd Holbrook.
Hayes and Aniston share a rich history, having both starred in NBC’s leading comedy series during the early 2000s. Friends and Will & Grace were pivotal shows for the network, with Friends serving as a lead-in for the freshman season of Will & Grace in 1998. The two series would later solidify their place as cornerstones of NBC’s Must See TV Thursday lineup from 2000 until Friends concluded in 2004.
Hayes is not the only high-profile addition for Season 5 of The Morning Show. He joins a growing cast that includes Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, and Jesse Williams.
The ensemble also features Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie, and Jon Hamm. The series, produced by Media Res, is showrun by Charlotte Stoudt and directed by Mimi Leder.
This marks a notable milestone in Hayes’ career, as it is his most significant commitment to a drama series, following a brief three-episode stint on NBC’s Smash.
Hayes won an Emmy Award for his role as Jack McFarland in Will & Grace and recently received a Tony Award for his performance in Good Night, Oscar. He is also noted for his Laurence Olivier Award nomination for the production’s West End transfer. Currently, Hayes is appearing in the Off-Broadway solo thriller The Unknown and co-hosts the acclaimed podcast SmartLess with Jason Bateman and Will Arnett. He was represented in this deal by Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
