- She lost 85 lbs. following gastric sleeve surgery in 2018.
- In December 2025, she discussed difficulties with eating following her father’s death and addressed critics of her appearance.
Kelly Osbourne has long shared her challenges with body image and weight since gaining fame as a teenager on the reality show, The Osbournes, two decades ago.
Reflecting on her past, Osbourne recalled on The Osbournes Podcast in 2024, “I got pulled into the head of the agency’s office and he … gave me a whole speech about how I was too fat for TV and I needed to lose weight, and that if I lost weight, I would look better.”
Osbourne underwent gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, leading to an 85-pound weight loss. However, she faced challenges regarding her self-image during her pregnancy with her first child, son Sidney, born in 2022.
“I was not gentle on myself,” she stated in a 2024 interview with PEOPLE, discussing her experiences with gaining and losing baby weight. “It’s something I’d be mad at myself for. I didn’t need to hide.”
In December 2025, Osbourne lashed out against critics who questioned her dramatic weight loss following her father Ozzy Osbourne’s death. “To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right.’ My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can,” she said in a since-deleted video. “So to all those people, ‘f— off.’”

In August 2020, Osbourne revealed that she had gastric sleeve surgery nearly two years prior. This procedure, which removes part of the stomach, allows patients to feel full on smaller portions.
“I had surgery; I don’t give a f— what anyone has to say,” she stated during an appearance on the Hollywood Raw podcast. “It is the best thing I have ever done.”
Alongside the surgery, Osbourne adopted a healthier lifestyle, emphasizing the importance of exercise and nutrition. “If you don’t work out and you don’t eat right, you gain weight,” she noted, explaining that the surgery only provides a starting point.
Moreover, the procedure aided in her struggles with substance abuse. “It cuts out this hormone that if you have addiction issues, it stops your craving and it makes you not emotionally eat, which is a huge problem for me,” she said.
With the combined effects of surgery and healthier habits, Osbourne successfully lost 85 lbs.

Osbourne and her partner, DJ Sid Wilson of Slipknot, welcomed their son Sidney in 2022. Throughout her pregnancy, Osbourne chose to stay out of the public eye to avoid criticism about her changing body.
She acknowledged, “I gained 100 pounds,” explaining, “I just didn’t want pictures out there. I didn’t want to face it and have people be like, ‘Oh, she’s a moose!’ So I just cut the problem out.”
Additionally, Osbourne experienced gestational diabetes during her pregnancy, a condition triggered by hormonal changes during this time.

In September 2023, during a conversation on the Scheananigans with Scheana Shay podcast, Osbourne discussed her diagnosis of gestational diabetes and its impact on her postpartum weight loss journey.
She explained, “How they figured out I was gestational was that I was gaining a lot of weight but I wasn’t eating that much… it turned out that the placenta blocks the way your body filters through sugar and it will go one way or the other, where you’ll lose a lot of weight or gain a lot of weight, and I gained a lot of weight.”
Osbourne added, “I was on a mission after having the baby to lose all my baby weight. And then I was like, well I lost all the baby weight, let’s see how far I can go with it. [I] went a little bit too far but [I] stopped.”
Denial of Ozempic Usage

In a 2024 interview with Extra, Osbourne denied taking Ozempic for weight loss. “I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don’t know where that came from,” she stated.
However, she has since expressed her support for those using the diabetes medication to assist with weight loss. On her family’s podcast, she remarked, “I made some comments about Ozempic recently where it was like 50 percent of the people hated it, 50 percent of the people liked it. But the truth is, my opinion used to be the same as the people who didn’t like it until I met somebody who lost weight from Ozempic and it changed their life.”
Conversations with those who have successfully lost weight using the medication helped shift her perspective. “They explained to me how it took the mental obsession with food away… It completely changed my opinion on it, so I’m like yeah, it’s great. If there’s a medication out there that can help people lose weight, then what’s so bad about it?”

Osbourne candidly addressed her health journey at The Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in May 2025. “You’ll never read an article about me that hasn’t got a comment about my weight,” she remarked. “I have been a drug addict, an alcoholic … but I got more s— for being fat than I did for anything else. It’s insane.”
She highlighted the societal pressures women face regarding body image, sharing, “People [would] say, ‘You’re so pretty. Why don’t you just lose a little bit of weight, and then you’ll be the total package.”
Osbourne emphasized the importance of prioritizing mental health as crucial to her well-being, stating, “I tried probably everything that there is out there… I got my mind where I needed it to be, and everything started to fall into place.”

Osbourne made headlines in December 2025 for her strong response to criticism regarding her significant weight loss following her father’s death. “To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right,’” she asserted, “My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can… so to all those people, ‘f— off.’”
In a display of familial support, her mother, Sharon Osbourne, defended her, stating, “She’s right. She’s lost her daddy; she can’t eat right now.”
